Catch Me If You Can Flies High at the Bridewell
The final boarding call has sounded, the FBI has finally caught up and our sold-out run of Catch Me If You Can has come to an end.
From 2 to 6 June, our company brought Frank Abagnale Jr’s extraordinary story to the Bridewell Theatre in a production filled with 1960s glamour, big-band sound, sharp choreography and an almost alarming number of costume changes.
The response was wonderful. LondonTheatre1 awarded the production five stars, describing it as “a highly enjoyable evening” with “strong performances all round”. The review also praised our twelve-piece band, slick scene changes and the standard of the production as a whole. Read the five-star review.
Our NODA report was every bit as generous. Regional Representative Matt Bentley called the show a “thoroughly enjoyable and cleverly realised” production, praising Ethea Jasmine Lee’s assured direction and choreography, the polished musical direction of Chris Forte Nelson and Isaac Bartels, and the energy and precision of the company.
The report celebrated performances across the cast, including Evan Huntley-Robertson’s confident and charming Frank, Jack Bolton’s commanding Carl Hanratty, Ruby Young’s heartfelt Brenda and Russell Bramley’s moving Frank Sr. It also recognised the work behind the scenes, from stage management and technical production to set, lighting, sound, costumes, publicity and front of house.
Most importantly, audiences filled every seat and gave the company a fantastic response throughout the week.
A huge thank you to everyone who performed, played, built, designed, stitched, carried, operated, organised, photographed, promoted and supported the show. Frank may have been pretending, but the talent onstage and off was very real.
