What’s Happening at Geoids?
We stage at least two large productions each year. On top of this, we put on pantomimes, cabarets and concerts, hold social events and run workshops to help our members to develop their skills further.

Our next season
We’re currently selecting our 2027 season and expect to announce the shows in early autumn 2026.
Once the season is announced, we’ll invite applications for creative-team roles. Audition information and backstage opportunities will follow as plans for each production develop.

Our productions bring together performers, directors, musical directors, choreographers, designers, producers and backstage teams from across London.
Opportunities open at different stages of each production. Creative teams are usually recruited first, followed by auditions and backstage call-outs. You can see where each of our current shows has reached above.

PERFORM ON STAGE
Auditions are open to performers from across London. Each production has its own process, rehearsal schedule and casting requirements, all of which will be explained in the audition notice.
You don’t need to be a Geoids member to audition, but successful cast members will need to join the society.
HELP CREATE A SHOW
Directors, musical directors, choreographers, producers and designers are invited to apply once a production has been announced.
Some roles require previous experience, while others are suitable for assistants or people looking to take their next step. Each application notice will explain what the production needs.

Depending on the type of event we are offering, you may need to be a member to attend, but the vast amount of our events are open to everyone.

No, you are welcome to audition before becoming a member.
A small refundable booking fee, usually around £5, may be required to secure your audition slot and help prevent no-shows.
If you are successful, this fee will be deducted from your show fee. If you are unsuccessful, it will be refunded.
If you are cast, you will also need to take out a Geoids membership for the duration of the production.

If you are cast, you will need to pay a show fee, which helps towards the cost of putting on the production. The amount varies between shows and will be confirmed before you audition.
We always aim to keep show fees as affordable as possible. If paying in full would be difficult, please speak to the production team in confidence. Payment plans are available, and we never want cost to be a barrier to taking part.

We do not have a dedicated time each year that we announce our next shows, so keep an eye on the website and our socials for any announcements.

Auditions usually open after a show has been announced and its creative team appointed. Timings vary between productions, so check the current opportunities above or join our newsletter for announcements.

Not necessarily. We welcome performers from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of experience. Individual audition notices will explain any particular vocal, dance or performance requirements.

Every production works slightly differently, but we’ll always give you clear information in the audition notice about what to prepare, what to expect on the day and whether there will be a separate dance call or recalls.
Auditions are a friendly opportunity for us to get to know you and see what you can bring to the role.
There’s no need to feel nervous; we want you to feel comfortable and supported, and we’ll make sure you have everything you need to feel prepared.

Contact the production team as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee an alternative audition, but the team will let you know whether another arrangement is possible.

The audition information will include the expected rehearsal schedule and performance dates. Please tell the team about any existing conflicts when you sign up so these can be considered during casting.
Typically we rehearse two nights per week, sometimes rising to three nights per week close to the show.

The 48-Hour Panto is one of the most exciting events in our calendar.

Absolutely. Geoids brings together people with a wide range of experience, including professionally trained performers and creatives, people working in the industry and people with substantial experience who have chosen careers elsewhere.
We take the work seriously without needing everyone involved to be a professional. If you are looking for an opportunity to perform, create, experiment with an idea or take on a role that stretches you, we want to hear from you. We value the skills and experience people bring and aim to give talented people the space, support and collaborators to do something interesting with them.

The exact team varies by production, but it commonly includes a Director, Musical Director, Choreographer and Producer, alongside design roles such as set, costume, lighting, sound, projection and video.

Applications usually open shortly after our new season is announced. Each show will have its own application brief, roles, deadlines and appointment process.

No. Pitching a show for the Geoids season and applying to join its creative team are separate processes.
Once a show has been selected, creative-team opportunities are advertised openly.

No. Lead positions may require relevant experience, but we also want to help people develop through assistant and shadowing opportunities. Tell us what you have done, what you are interested in and what you would like to learn.

Yes. Tell us which roles and productions interest you when you apply. The relevant application brief will explain any restrictions for that season.

Yes. While you can absolutely apply alone, we also encourage applications from multiple people or whole teams. It is great if you already know you will work well together.

The committee will review the applications and may invite you to an informal conversation about your ideas, experience, availability and how you would approach the role. The exact appointment process will be explained in the application brief.

Absolutely. Assistant roles and shadowing opportunities are excellent ways to gain practical experience, learn how a Geoids production works and build relationships with more experienced team members. You can also register your general interest through our Backstage page.
