Geoids Musical Theatre welcomes friends old and new to start the year with a bang!

We’re delighted to bring back our traditional New Year drinks – after a Covid-forced hiatus – but this time we're taking things up a notch. We have a more musical flavour, with fun and surprises throughout the evening and a great special guest host in the shape of Miss Kitty Flaps who many will remember introducing online performers for our Geoids MT:V shows during lockdown.

So, no ordinary drinks...

Expect a "Merry Mingle", 10 sensational soloists, a Reject Raffle of unwanted Christmas gifts and Start-the-year Singalongs, where you'll be invited, no, expected, to a bring along your own harmonies! And, because we want as many people as possible to come along to this great 2023 kick-off event, it'll be just £2 entry if you book in advance (£3 if you buy on the door).

Those solo performance slots for 10 people, with accompaniment by our resident house pianist Issie Osborne, are up for grabs now! Choose an upbeat song and sign up for your "open-mic" slot in advance here. Don’t miss your first chance to sing your heart out in 2023!

Even if you're not performing on stage, you can still join in the fun. Take part in the Reject Raffle, either by bringing along your own gift that you are keen for someone else to enjoy or by buying a raffle ticket and maybe actually winning the star prize! We'll have a well-stocked bar open throughout the night. And we’ll be finishing with a good old-fashioned singalong for everyone (lyrics provided).

This will be a great chance to come and meet or to reconnect with Geoids, whether as a performer or a supporter of musical theatre. At the very least, you'll be fulfilling that New Year's resolution to get out more and do the things that bring you joy.

• 8:30pm – 9pm: Welcome from Kitty and introduction of the first performances.

• 10pm to close: Singalong!
