Victoria Park Friends and Geoids Musical Theatre proudly present

A celebration of musical theatre.

We are delighted to announce, in conjunction with London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council, an exciting outdoor live music event featuring some of your favourite songs from the last 90 years of Musical Theatre. The concert will take place on Sunday 6th September 2020 at the Victoria Park Bandstand from 2pm.

Arrivals

Victoria Park Bandstand can be found on the east side of Victoria Park. We strongly encourage all attendees to avoid public transport if possible, there are cycle stands nearby.

The bandstand area will have clearly marked areas for households to sit and various areas which must be kept clear for health and safety reasons. Please note we will have marshals supporting attendees in locating themselves around the site. We will be operating strict social distancing requirements which will mean:

  • Spaces will be for single households or 6 attendees from various households only as per current government guidelines
  • There can be no mixing / joining of household groups
  • Please do not attend the site in groups bigger than those listed above

On arrival there will be a QR code to scan that will provide a link to the event programme and useful information about the event. Some printed copies will be available as needed.

The Performance

The site opens for arrivals from 12:30 and the music will start at 14:00. There will be 2 ‘acts’ of around 45 minutes with an interval of around 30 mins. The event will close at 16:30.

Government requirements do limit some usual audience participation, we kindly ask our audience to clap loudly their appreciation for the artists, shouting and singing-along cannot be allowed in line with these requirements.

What to bring

There will be no bar or refreshments at the event, please feel free to bring any food or drink you would like to consume with you. Alcohol is permitted however, always drink responsibly.

Folding chairs are permitted but please be aware of how these might affect others enjoyment of the performance in choosing where to sit.

Toilets

There are NO toilets located within the direct vicinity of the Bandstand, however, there are various park facilities within 5 minutes’ walk. Please note these are public facilities which may be busy at times and attract a queue. We suggest you plan your trips accordingly so as to not miss out on our programme.

Weather

We do hope our great British weather does not deter you from attending, we intend to perform if weather conditions allow. There will be no coverings available for audience members.

In the event of very bad weather the event will be cancelled. A notice will be posted here and updates provided on our social media platforms.

Leaving the site

This event operates a ‘leave no trace’ policy, please be prepared to take all your rubbish home with you.
