Introducing the Geoids Academy
We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Geoids Academy, which starts on Tuesday nights from the 2nd of August.
The Academy will host weekly lessons in various styles of dance led by our Dance Academy Principal, Julia Kleinsteuber-Walker, and other visiting teachers. Julia most recently brought her choreography to the stage as co-director of our spring production Hair. Classes will take place in the brand new dance studio at the Union Theatre in Southwark and will suit all levels of experience.
While Tuesday nights will see the Academy hosting weekly dance lessons, we’ll also be running a number of longer workshops during the year focused on other aspects of performance, so watch this space!
The Academy will kick off at 7pm on Tuesday 2nd August with a taster session that’s free for all Geoids members (non-members £7). We will then relocate for a post-class drink so you can get to know your fellow students!
From Tuesday 9th August, classes will be split between beginners (7pm-8pm) and intermediate/advanced (8pm-9pm). All classes are drop-in sessions so you can come whenever you’re free, and each dance/style will run for two weeks. At the launch night on Tuesday 2nd we’ll let you know about block booking in advance and Julia will unveil the timetable of classes for the first term, so don’t miss it!
